Looking for dev insight on hands free audiobook annotation (early concept)

By annotation, I mean the BookTok kind. Noting moments that hit with little sticky tabs and fun markers, not scholarly notes or text markup.

I’m exploring a problem I keep running into as an audiobook listener. A lot of people listen while driving, walking, exercising, or doing things with their hands. When a line really hits, there’s no hands-free way to capture that moment in real time.

Sure, you can go back later and try to find the line again, but in reality life gets busy. You forget where you were, you don’t have time, or you just never get back to it. The cognitive load and time it takes are high enough that most of those moments are effectively lost.

Bookmarks, skipping back, notes, and voice memos all require stopping, touching your phone, or breaking immersion and sometimes they just aren’t safe when you’re in motion.

The MVP version of a solution would let someone mark that emotional moment instantly, without touching the phone or looking at a screen, and come back to it later with context.

I’m not attached to a specific solution and I’m not trying to pitch or hire. I’m genuinely curious whether something like this is technically feasible, or if there are constraints I’m not seeing. I’d really appreciate a developer’s perspective.
