September 7, 2026 What's your current launch/distribution stack?

I kept running into the same problem:

Every time I wanted to find a place to launch a product, I had to open 20+ tabs and figure out:

  • Is this platform still active?

  • Who is the audience?

  • Is it daily or weekly?

  • Is it actually useful for my type of product?

  • Does it cost anything?

  • Is there any SEO value?

  • How difficult is submission?

  • Should I launch here before or after another platform?

So I decided to turn that research into a product.

Product Hunt Alternatives is an independent catalog of launch platforms beyond Product Hunt:

https://producthunt-alternatives.com/

It currently has 59 alternatives, with a scoring system covering:

Traffic · Audience · SEO · Ease · Community · Cost

There are also:

→ Best-for rankings
→ Launch sequences
→ Platform comparisons
→ Launch Advisor
→ Launch guides and calendars
→ Field notes
→ Public API
→ Machine-readable catalog/API documentation

I'm deliberately keeping it independent: no paid placements and no affiliate layer.

The goal isn't to say:

“Here is the #1 website everyone should use.”

It's to help answer:

“Given what I'm building and what I want from this launch, where should I go?”

If you're an indie hacker, I'd love to know:

What's your current launch/distribution stack?

September 3, 2026 Unpopular opinion: you probably don't need to launch everywhere

I've been researching startup launch platforms and looking at 70+ different places founders can launch products.

My conclusion so far:

More submissions ≠ better launch.

It's tempting to create a giant spreadsheet and submit your product to every launch board, directory, community, and discovery site you can find.

But I think that's often the wrong optimization.

Imagine you're launching a developer tool.

You could spend two days submitting it to 30 generic sites.

Or you could spend those two days finding 3 communities where developers who actually have the problem hang out.

The second approach may produce fewer visitors but much better users.

I think launch channels should be evaluated based on the job you're trying to accomplish:

Need feedback?
Find people who understand the problem.

Need early adopters?
Find communities with strong audience intent.

Need launch-day attention?
Consider launch boards.

Need long-term discovery?
Look at evergreen platforms.

Need developer adoption?
Go where developers already spend time.

Need pre-launch validation?
Build the waitlist first.

That's the thinking behind a project I've been working on called Best Launch Platforms.

It's an independent research site comparing 70+ launch channels across things like reach, intent, fairness, evergreen value, AI visibility, and ease.

But I'm much more interested in the discussion than the rankings.

What's your launch strategy?

Do you try to maximize the number of places you submit to, or do you focus on a handful of high-intent channels?

And what's one launch platform you'd recommend that most indie hackers overlook?

I spent the last few days recording a video walking through 9 indie tools on Aura++.

A few patterns I noticed across the best launches:

1. Clear one-liner — the products that stood out explained themselves in under 10 words

2. Show the output — Reelry shows the reel, Vizro shows the dashboard, Sebora shows the article. Don't just describe features.

3. Niche > broad — ReleasePad (changelogs from GitHub) and Backlink Catalog (backlink monitoring) win by being specific

4. AI with a job — the strongest AI tools aren't "AI-powered X" — they automate one painful workflow end-to-end

The pattern I'd add is that the strongest launches make the buying decision feel obvious, not just the product. A clear one-liner gets attention, but showing exactly why someone should switch from what they're already doing is usually what creates demand. Curious if you noticed that in the walkthroughs too.

June 21, 2026 Just published a video walking through 12+ platforms where you should consider launching your product.

Hey IH 👋

Just published a video walking through 12+ platforms where you should consider launching your product.

I see a lot of posts here asking "where should I launch?" or "Product Hunt didn't work for me" — so I made a comprehensive guide covering:

→ Product Hunt (and why it's harder than it looks)

→ BetaList ($39, but you get a dofollow backlink even without users)

→ Peerlist (weekly dev launches)

→ Aura++ (dofollow backlink + blog post + social promo)

→ Indie Hackers (community pitch — meta, I know 😄)

→ Hacker News (4K–5K visitors in a day if you rank)

→ High-DR backlink sites (Startup Fame DR 83, Fazier, LaunchIgniter)

→ Weekly platforms (Early Hunt, Indie Hunt — 7 days homepage)

→ Fazier / OpenHunt

No fluff — just honest breakdown of what each platform offers and who it's best for.

Would love to hear:

- Which platform gave you the best results?

- Any platforms I missed that you'd recommend?

June 21, 2026 AI founders have a unique problem.

AI founders have a unique problem.

You can build incredibly fast.

Which means everyone else can too.

When product development becomes easier, distribution becomes the advantage.

The next generation of AI winners won't just have better models.

They'll have:
→ Better feedback loops
→ Better user discovery
→ Better launch systems
→ Better community engagement

In other words, they'll learn faster.

That's why launching early matters.

Not for attention.

For learning.

That's one of the reasons we built EarlyHunt — a place where AI founders can launch products, connect with early adopters, and accelerate the path from idea to traction.

About

We built EarlyHunt because AI founders need faster feedback loops and better distribution channels. Launching an AI product is difficult when discoverability is crowded and most launch platforms are too broad.
