SaaS Service Naming Advice

As others have said, I'd get a new name (and personally, I'd pick a .com tld). It's not that hard to come up with made-up names that have available .coms, and in the end the name doesn't really matter unless it's actively bad.

If you're in the same industry, then it's a bad idea. Especially if the competitor has the name trademarked. You will just cause a lot of re-branding problems for yourself later on.

If you are doing different things I think go with widget.so, it's a good domain

find another domain name, your brand is important.. It's better change now than chaged it later..

I would definitely find a new company name for the reasons others have stated. Plus, you don't want to accidentally advertise for your customer when promoting your brand.

It's also helpful sometimes to realize that many popular brands have company names that don't mean much or aren't super special. By building a great product, we have attached meaning to names that don't always sounds that great on their own (think Uber, Facebook, Google).

Yes you should find a new name, but only so that people don't get confused when googling you IMHO.
