E.g. “It’s raining right now. Grab an umbrella!”
Basically I want Google Home to be more like my mom. ❤️ @shreebobnish.
I have been thinking about this problem as well and wondering if there is a good solution, i.e. "what would I do if I was the CEO of Google".
The problem is that building such notification capabilities is a slippery slope. Because if Google Home had the capability the different app developers will want to provide their own proactive notifications, and we will quickly get annoyed by the large number of proactive information.
It knows that you're from Oregon and people will look at you funny if you carry an umbrella. In all seriousness though, this would definitely benefit competitor Alexa who can sell and deliver most of those items you might need within 24 hours.
