#1 result on google after 1 day

I did a little experiment today and I've learned it's very easy to hit the top of google search results for esoteric keywords.

Here is the article:

Here is a search for the title:

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=a paean to the stripe status page

This particular article title is unlikely to generate lots of hits for me individually, but I wanted to start generating some seo content which can rank on google for the search terms I'm interested in, and am hoping a few articles like this will help gather seo traffic slowly.

Posting it to HN seems to have helped somewhat and that story has first place at the moment, with the actual article second (even if it hasn't gathered many points and I probably posted at the wrong time):

But this shows it is worth posting stories to relevant link aggregators for seo reasons, even if they don't get lots of upvotes.
