200+ Users, $0 Revenue — Here's What I Learned Building a Cross-Posting Tool

Back in 2025 I restarted my music career in the UK. I joined a band and everyone had their own YouTube channel. I had 25+ performance videos scattered across Instagram and my laptop, so I figured I'd upload them to YouTube too.

Big mistake. Download each video from Instagram one by one. Upload to YouTube one by one. Edit title, description, tags, make a thumbnail in Canva... repeat 25+ times. It took forever.

So I wrote some Python to automate it. That worked, but then I thought — why not turn this into a proper product? Tools like Buffer and Hootsuite exist, but they're expensive for solo creators and none of them let you repurpose Instagram videos directly to YouTube.

6 months later, working 4 hours every night after my consulting day job and putting two kids to bed, I had a working product. Not polished, but functional. Friends loved it.

Fast forward to now:

• 200+ free users signed up

• 40% connected their social accounts

• 4% actively posted content

• The 4% gave me gold — they want TikTok + Facebook integration and said they'd pay once those are live

• I also learned my onboarding had too many options, so I'm building a simple 3-step wizard

Still pre-revenue, but the signals feel real. Currently working on TikTok/Facebook integration, better onboarding, and workspaces for agencies.

You can check it out at gopost.io — there's a free plan for creators posting less than 10 times a month.

Would love feedback from this community. What would make a cross-posting tool a no-brainer for you?
