3 lessons from a 3am Product Hunt launch πŸŒ™πŸš€

Hey all,

It's 4 am ET here.

Why would I be posting on Indie Hackers at this time?

That's because today is Driveway's Product Hunt Launch. πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

Here are three tips for launching on Product Hunt (and why you also might want to be up at 3 am!)

3: Launch early.

  • Yup, you guessed it. You can launch your product as early as 12:01 am PT, i.e. 3 am Eastern 😊
  • I listed this one first since it's pretty in your control to make this happen. What gets challenging is what you want to get done before 12am/3am (see below)

2: Confirm with friends

  • Make a shared spreadsheet with your team of who you'll share with - take note of who will be in more or less favorable time zones.
  • If you have someone hunting you - be sure to have them confirm in advance! It can be hard getting in contact with people the day of, especially at this time.

1: Pre-write social content

  • And of course, why not post on IndieHackers, Reddit, & Twitter about it.
  • Draft all the content at least 24 hours in advance. You don't want to be second-guessing copy the (early)morning of.

Those are our simple tips for your Product Hunt Launch. Most importantly - have fun! It's a special day for your team - congratulate yourselves on the journey.

P.S. You can learn more about how Driveway's chrome extension speeds up software adoption here.
