Hey Everyone,

I am looking for some #product-feedback-request for my recently launched product, https://www.synotate.com. Synotate is a collaborative data analysis platform that was built to solve the problem of analysis paralysis marked by access to an abundance of data, multiple data/communication platforms and no centralized source for data analysis.

Particular areas of feedback I am looking for are:

  1. Does the problem and product make sense?
  2. Were you able to understand the problem and product from the website content?
  3. Do you find the content compelling enough for you to sign up for a free trial?

Any feedback would be helpful!

just read intro and watched video feedback:

    1. yes. Event for indiemakers make sense a way to track data and reason about it, even after time. Not sure how and from where these data will be gathered
    2. yes, for me is clear. from video examples your idea seems to be more on marketing side, but my 2 cents are to display example different from "social network dropping numbers", I mean income/money side are a good hook, right?
    3. I don't have time right now, but seems interesting. Not sure about pricing/features from homepage only. I mean from here: https://www.synotate.com/sign-up/ there is no feature exaplanation , maybe you can work to create one pace only with info from here https://www.synotate.com/pricing/ ?

Side note: "built-in task management system" companies already have this systems, working on integrations (after a proper market analysis and real case scenario, I mean!) could be a plus

Thank you for you time and feedback Vokail! Spot on with improving the feature explanation and income/money hook. Really interesting note that task management systems are pretty common among companies and I completely agree. I think your comment about integrations as being a value proposition to help differentiate the feature is a great call.

Quick question: Does the lack of creative showing the actual product impact your decision if you would sign up for the product?

About task management systems: they are common with medium/big companies, little companies does not have them and uses email/telephone only

Quick question: Does the lack of creative showing the actual >product impact your decision if you would sign up for the product?

A little, I mean I get the message, register for free is an option, if onboarding does not have problems or is slow, why bother to watch a video ?

    Hey Conner,

I just signed up for the app and ran through the first few screens ( didn't have time to do a deep dive ).

As someone working on a data analysis platform myself ( https://www.siftic.com ) and having worked as a developer doing collaborative data tasks, the product makes sense. This kind of thing is usually done in something like JIRA, but something more tightly integrated to the data could be more useful for businesses.

It wasn't initially obvious to me how the data is involved with the platform. I'd expect that to be front and center and for the UIs to revolve around it, but it looks like data can be uploaded as file attachments and that might be optional? Since the website is about data analysis, maybe make that part of the workflow more clear?

I'd also concur with soluxos, the homepage ( and general ) design/branding looks good, but the marketing copy could be simplified. This might be personal preference, but when websites have videos in the hero, I usually like for them to show me actual footage of the app that they are trying to get me to sign up for. If the app looks good in the video, that usually hooks me to sign up.

I appreciate the great feedback siftic! Really interesting product you have and great to see more people tackling different areas of the data analysis problem.

Great feedback on the data being front and center and UIs to revolve around it. Basically give the user something tangible that supports the copy. Also interesting that you felt the data analysis focus wasn't that clear. Did the terminology used in the copy make you feel that way (e.g. Data Annotation)?

Files can be attached to annotations along with web-based analytics platform report links.

Simplified landing copy and actual product creative sounds like a recurring theme and really helps me with next steps.

This has been a huge help!

No, terminology didn't confuse me. Maybe a callout about the different integrations ( some type of graphic ) could make it more obvious. Ideally within the first minute you would want users to think something like "Oh, its a platform for tracking business domain data, and the data can come from anywhere"

Once thats clearly conveyed, I think your copy wants to communicate why your platform is better for doing that than traditional means ( google sheets, JIRA, email, etc. )

This is great. Glad that it wasn't the terminology used, but the visual guides and your structure makes complete sense. What is the product and then how does it differentiate itself from other platforms

    1. Bare in mind I'm not remotely doing data analysis, so it might not apply to me, but I don't really understand the problem or the product. Straight away when I visit the site I'm not entirely sure what it is. I think you're meant to be able to tell within 5 seconds what a website is offering you.

    2. Not really. The copy isn't really telling me what it is you are offering straight away. As an example "Save Money. Reclaim Time. Improve Performance." It's not really telling me what the service is doing, a good example https://www.coinbase.com/ tells me straight away what the service is, and how it can help me, and it's using barely any copy.

    3. Honestly, no, but again I'm not your target market.

Some other things, I haven't seen any visuals for your product yet, so as a prospective customer, I have absolutely no idea what I will get from your homepage. Some visuals of the product would definitely help push it more.

Really great points and thank you for providing the Coinbase example. It might be hard to make the headline as direct as their service because cyrpto currency is now common language, but you are spot on that I can do a better job in communicating what it is in a few words.

The visuals are a great point and something that I am working on fixing.

Appreciate the feedback and your time!

        More than welcome!
