In March 2022, I started creating content online.
I've paid 1,000s of dollars to learn the secrets.
Here are 4 of them that hide in plain sight:
Writing online cements you as the expert in a niche. You can monetize the attention, stroke your ego, or build a new career.
Our attention span and memory are low for online content. You can take advantage of it. Instead, most people:
Are vague about the value they bring
Try to build new content every day
Monetize attention with no trust
The best creators make six-figures every month writing exactly how they solve the problems most people have.
Just pay attention.
Repurpose your content
Turn a tweet into a blog post, newsletter, YouTube video, or book.
At PyQuant News, I wrote a tweet about open source investment tools. It was popular, so I created a thread. The thread was popular, so I created a newsletter. Now I am planning a course.
Be clear about the value you provide
A lesson I learned the hard way: be clear, not clever.
The best creators talk about this constantly. Though many beginners still do not take their advice. Just say what value you provide: nothing more, nothing less.
Write about 1 idea 1,000 different ways
If your idea is popular, write about it as many times as you can.
I use Dickie Bush's 4A Framework. It shows you how to write about a single idea from 4 perspectives: actionable, analytical, aspirational, anthropological. In a short time, you have a lot of ideas.
Give away 99% of your value and monetize 1%
This is a powerful concept that most people do not get.
To stand out, provide value for free. You will earn trust. And when you want to offer a product, people will pay a premium.
What have I missed?
