Hello IH!
I've been working on a tool that I believe can help anyone running an online business, get a lot more value and ROI from their existing customers by turning them into brand advocates.
I would love to have some feedback from the community, and to make it worth your while, the most upvoted comment gets $50 on paypal after 48 hours!
No specific questions, you can share your thoughts on the concept, the landing page, or whatever you feel can help!
The landing page & a demo is available here : https://squadist.com
Thanks!
48H UPDATE : Thanks to everyone who commented and those who reached out privately. @Alexmev gets the $50!
As a business owner, I don't like the landing page at all, but I loved the demo.
Overall, you are doing a bad job at explaining how your tool can help and, honestly, if you weren't an IH user, I wouldn't have spent time checking out your demo.
I see various areas of improvement:
Hey Luqa!
Thank you so much for the detailed write-up, got a lot of value out of it!
I've updated the landing page based on it, do you mind checking out the new version ? It's over here : https://squadist.com
Thanks!
P.S : I have been reaching out to potential customers via cold-email but didn't get any responses. I'm also documenting this whole journey on Twitter : https://twitter.com/get_eo/status/1168616208465321984
Cold-emails are hard. My suggestion is to find people already using competitors as a starting point. Then show them how your solution is an upgrade. Your message should be short (people don't have time and the longer the email the easier is going to be blocked by spam filters) and you should have a demo video or a landing page to do the convincing work.
Go on built with or nerdydata to find a list of people that use your competitors and their email.
You could even use a social listening app and do the same on social media/blogs/forums. It can work even better.
Regarding the landing page, I saw that click on the "get early access" in the hero, it sends me to the footer, instead of opening the popup.
I would other "view a demo" buttons. One after every section (missions, rewards, make customer advocacy your secret weapon) otherwise if I start scrolling, I need to go back to the hero to see the demo.
Instead of the static image, I would show how it works. Something like this https://snov.io/. Instead of a popup, I would put an email input directly in the landing page. Again, you can look at snovio for inspiration.
Overall this new version is a lot better than the first one.
Thanks again Luqa, your feedback has been extremely helpful!
@Othmane, the idea looks interesting. Here is a few thoughts:
Cons:
Pros:
Overall the landing page is very non-informative.
The idea is cool, but the wrap will make it tough to sell it.
I'm interested in such a solution and I would use your's, but I was unable to register. (no message shown)
Hey Alex!
Thanks again for helping out. I'm trying to reach out to you to send the $50 but can't DM you on IH.
Can you hit me up privately here or on Twitter ?
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Will come in handy when I re-design the landing page.
Did you check out the demo and other pages or just the homepage ? I was hoping the demo will demonstrate the value and use cases better.
As for the flashing text, it seemed like the only way to include all the benefits. I did get a few people telling me it may not be such a good idea.
You can't register right now, but you can get on the waiting list, is that what you were referring to ? I just tried it and it's working fine once you fill the modal form.
Thanks again!
I check out demo pages and all the tabs, tried to register bug was unable to sign up. While I was on the Demo page I fully got the idea, but I was really trying to get it.
Usually, users are not so sophisticated if they don't understand the idea straight away. You actually have from 5 to 15 seconds to catch their atention and make them feel they need it. I got this felling in 5 minutes (aproximately)
I spent the day trying to find that bug, but seems like the signup for is working correctly.
Also updated the landing page based on your feedback, if you have a minute please check it out over here : https://squadist.com
This looks a perfect solution for user engagement. Can be a perfect fit for UGC platforms and Internet Media houses (platforms that publish news).
You should speak to some news publishers and help them adopt it. They make money by selling ad impressions on their websites and to generate impressions they need pageviews and to minimize the cost of each pageviews, pages/session needs to be maximized.
Value proposition for UGC & Internet Media houses: Squadist can help them maximizing returning visits, referral visits, sessions/user, pages/session, average session duration and tons of pageviews
Give it a try!
Those are some great ideas, thanks!
One of the issues I'm having is which targets to prioritize, seems like this can be valuable for different use cases / industries.
It's too complicated, dumb it down. On the landing page show one of the examples that you show in the demo like "Follow Squadist on Twitter" and how much coins you get for that.
The concept is very abstract, that is good for you but annoying for the user. A website that integrates your service could instead show a popup in the corner of their website "Share your review of Squadist on Capterra.com" with a little coin symbol (is that even allowed?). If they click on it they get drawn in and learn about it.
For the landing page I would only show a picture of such a popup with a text above "Let your users perform tasks - and reward them". They'll get the drill. On scrolling down show another task example with a another headline "Engange with your users - build a squad".
People love examples :)
Thanks! Seems like a few people have found it too abstract.
Although I couldn't really find a way to dumb it down to just a popup, I've updated the landing page based on some of your feedback, do you mind checking out the new version ? It's over here : https://squadist.com
Yes I think its much better already. For me, the point where I understood the concept (I skimmed over most of the text) was the card in the demo that said "Read & comment on the latest blog post" with the coins next to it. I think because its visually easy to understand with the coins.
EDIT: Someone else said that "Gamify" should be removed, I agree with that. To me it sounds like there might be unnecessary overhead to make it like a game.
Thanks again!
I dropped the Gamify text, changed it to "Get 3x more Testimonials, Feedback..."
Landing page feedback - Im personally a big fan on whitespace, and feel that it makes pages easier on the eye. With that in mind, i think your 'hero' section is a bit cluttered. Ive done some tweaks, and uploaded a new version: https://imgur.com/BvnxCDk. Let me know what you think.
Hey man,
Thanks for taking the time to make that. Although I moved from the original minimal LP, I did try to keep the new page spaced out.
Can you check it out again ? It's on https://squadist.com
Have you talked to 10 people running an online business that you know should be using your product?
Landing page is a bit vague. How is it for? What is in it for them?
How do you track when someone completes the 'missions'?
How are you different/better than Rafflecopter etc?
Good luck!
I actually have been trying to talk to prospects, but haven't got any responses so far.
I updated the landing page to make it clearer : https://squadist.com
Thanks for your feedback!
Hi Othmane,
I think the way you implemented the idea is too abstracted, I can't easily figure out if it's something useful for my business or not.
This kind of tools is generally addressed to marketers, so make sure to use their language (not being too technical), more illustrations and the most important: use cases where Squadist could be beneficial
Personally, I think this fits perfectly for the eCommerce market, like letting customers share pictures of their buyings on social media and get rewarded by coupons or exclusive deals... so the business owner gains free marketing from customers friends.
Hey Mehdi!
Thanks for dropping by. I think I get what you mean by too abstract.
I've updated the landing page with some of your and other people's feedback, do you mind checking out the new version ? It's over here : https://squadist.com
Thanks!
