What I expected would happen after adding live chat: Answering prospects about features, closing deals fasters
What happened: Existing clients sending messages asking random stuff ..lol

I installed a live chat to our product's one-page sales page during a product launch and got real questions from prospective customers.
The best part wasn't that I could close deals, it was that I found out what people were asking that was already answered on the page so now I can figure out what changes to make to the landing page!
Same one page sales page, I bet what they thought was 'hey this where we spoke before, better hit up that chat again'.
Don't get me wrong, I think the think the whole thing of them having a direct access to my phone is amazing.

Ended up checking out https://small.chat and I think it's perfect!

What I particularly like about Drift is the flexible API. Allows a lot of flexibility and personalisation of when the dialogue opens/is shown, as well as the message contents themselves.
The small.chat guys frequent the local JavaScript Meetup in my town. One of them did a presentation on how they built small.chat, it was really interesting! Nice guys too
Super cool! Pretty sure we are gonna upgrade to a paid plan, it's a great product.
Oh yeah that does look good and way cheaper than intercom and the like.
