Extreme challenges you can try this year for personal and business growth

I remember reading a story about two pottery classes. One class quickly made a vase every day. The other class spent the whole semester learning about, designing, and then executing a single vase.

The students that made a vase every day picked their favorite, and those ended up being better than the single carefully planned vase of the second class. It turns out quantity was better than quality.

These challenges are really all in on this concept. I am still hesitant about it haha.

      Hahaha.. perfect story though..

Really nice article. And I agree, it seems difficult or maybe too ambitions, but it is something that allows to go outside your comfort zone. I started such challenge, I am going to write 52 issue during the 2023. And seems I successfully finished with 3 already.
What I found out, that with every issue it becomes easier to write.

Only if you are interested, here is mine NL https://ivanklimchuk.substack.com/

re: newsletter (NL) challenge, I think 52/year might be not optimal for everyone. I know most people do NL weekly but in my opinion it is too much. Not only for the writer but also for the readers. NL is rapidly becoming a super-saturated field, as well as our Inboxes. I think 12 NL/year might be a reasonable goal for many, and might be welcomed by a lot pf ppl. I am not saying anything right or wrong; just my opinion....

I tried with monthly, and with be-weekly cadence, but failed. One month good for readers, but it may be too much info, because a lot of time passed and many achievements done. Or, from another side, you are just forgetting about your duty to write and in the end of month you may fail.

I 100% agree. Most newsletters are way too often.

I agree.. everyone has to find their own cadence.. something that works for them as well as their audience.

In case someone is thinking of doing them, some can be done more easily with AI tools like ChatGPT, like the writing a book per month 😄

30 essays in 30 days is like that cohort that's always all over Twitter.

Oop, I looked it up and it's just called 30 for 30 haha. Is that the genesis of #3?

That framework's a really effective one, but the bonus — 10 ideas a day — is my favorite. Step 1 of our DIY Startup School is a similar conceit, and it's my favorite part of the process. 🥺 Anyway, definitely going to save your Idea Machine article and give it a closer read later! Thanks for sharing your writing!

Yea they've done a great job of branding it, but the method works even if you don't pay them money 😆
