Google recently shared a list of best practices ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to ensure maximum visibility, according to Search Engine Journal. These recommendations help Google understand and surface sales events in search results.
- Use permanent URLs. Use recurring URLs for Black Friday landing pages rather than creating new URLs each year. Google recommends this because re-used URLs allow sites to build link equity (the quality of a link gained when other pages link to it, which is accumulated over time).
- Publish Early. This allows enough time for Google to discover the links and index them
- Follow SEO Best Practices. This speaks for itself.
- Build internal links. Link to this landing page from other pages (including the homepage) to communicate the importance to Google and help visitors find the page faster.
- Include a high-quality image.
- Get the landing page recrawled. When you perform major updates on the Black Friday page ask Google to recrawl the page to get your updates indexed more quickly.
Thanks for the post! Somehow I totally forgot about Cyber Monday O_o
For the 6), good point, but impossible since few weeks "Google is temporarily disabling the Request Indexing feature of the URL Inspection tool."
That is absolutely true, but there are other ways of triggering this. You can go to the search console and re-submit your sitemap (which hopefully includes the new landing page) which will make Google crawl your website and discover this new page.
Another option, if you are using sitemaps is to use the lastmod argument (https://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.html#lastmoddef) and signal that this page needs to be recrawled.
Finally, a programmatic solution is to ping Google about changes in your sitemap:

yes, we just have a sitemap. I hope that it's still working, because from what I did since 2 weeks, even with sitemap, it's slow (or not) even indexed.
Maybe the feature will be available soon, but looks like it could just disappear.
