/ If you do well, launch day is just the beginning. To my surprise, 90DaysOfProse was featured in Product Hunt's newsletter 3 days after launch. 3rd Place was good enough.
/ You'll end up getting way more votes post-launch. I think a lot of makers get caught up in being ranked in the Top 5. It's awesome if you can get there, but regardless, don't put too much weight on one day.
/ My newsletter is pretty small, but it grew by almost 20% in 3 days, post-launch, and I didn't ask anyone to sign up for it. Probably a missed opportunity to shout about it a bit more but I'm still happy with the results.
/ Product Hunt needs more competition. I'm a fan of the platform, but it's far from perfect. There are a TON of 🤖s muddying up the waters. I'm honestly surprised another platform hasn't even come close to having the same impact they have.
/ Launching on a holiday can help if you're product is relevant. I purposely launched on New Year's Day as there are many people who want to start building new habits on Day One. My numbers were much lower than they would have been on a Monday or Tuesday but that was ok for me.
/ The main distribution channel that helped me during the launch was Twitter. I've only been active on the social network for a couple of months now and I'm still blown away by how much power it has in the maker community.
/ I originally planned on launching #90DaysOfProse in February but decided not to wait. I wanted to take advantage of the momentum that comes with starting a new year. Trust your gut. Don't overthink when to launch. Just do it.
