8 Things I learned from building a startup

  1. Clarity is of paramount importance.

  2. One person in the team must envision and lead the product from front

  3. Obsession with problem-solving and customers above anything.

  4. Build something that you are proud of. Even if it doesn't work the best. But
still, build something that you love to talk about.

  5. When you start building a product and change it as per the trends, it is not a good sign. Trends are only visible when they become mainstream. Building for trends is building products in the past. The right time has already gone.

  6. The first thing to aim for is Product-Market Fit. Nothing is more important than hitting the PMF. PMF is virality (distribution) and retention.

  7. The early employees won't feel invested in the company unless you offer them equity. And showcase to them your vision and a potential roadmap towards success. Tell them what success means to you and what success will look like.

  8. The goals of the individuals who are building the company and product should align with the goals of the company. In other words, the individual should automatically achieve their goals as the company achieves its goals.
