Hi, indie hackers
My previous job was at social media monitoring company and I have a lot of experience how to deal with all media monitoring problems and I see that for example competitors not using AI for image and video analytics
And now I want to understand it's too crazy or meaningful to jump on this competitive market because nowadays outside are really good social media monitoring solutions already in place and they are providing huge options.
Your thoughts, suggestions? #idea-validation #ideas #socialmedia
Hi Kaspars,
You mentioned:
This feels a little solution-focused to me. I'd work hard to understand what the core problem or pain is that customers feel using current solutions. Focus on the problem, then worry about whether or not AI - or any other implementation - could help.
If you think there's a gap there in current products and want to take this further, if you believe in this idea, then consider coming up with a plan to validate your belief. Give yourself a weekend, or a week, or whatever is needed, to build/validate the bare minimum to prove or disprove your idea. Use that learning to iterate and take it further, or focus your energy elsewhere.
Ultimately, I'd try to build the smallest thing possible, and get a real user (or two!) to try it. Doing this, you'll start to understand if you're on the right path.
Thanks for the suggestion @Redman
Definitely, when I come to idea validation I will share my plan ;-)
I see in this area that if you want to automate stuff, not only get a bunch of mentions or analytics reports or predict fake accounts, then life becomes much harder because from one side you have a report but for another side, you need to report this to us in different systems, and there is a problem that I see. Almost all platforms offer an Excel report but these days there should be better options to feed data in real time without doing the manual job.
Sounds like you've got something to explore! Have fun and keep us posted :)
It depends on what you wish to jump in the industry with. What new are you offering that your competitors aren't? Why would people go for you instead of other famous brands out there?
Once you list down the answers to all these questions, then you're going somewhere.
Thanks for advice @ezramikhel
Yeah I should investigate competitors and potential customers and then the picture will be a little clearer.
