A few things I tell myself every day

Here are some notes, written to myself. Maybe you'll find them valuable.

  • Don't make yourself look like a clown. This game is about perception and you need to understand how you want to be perceived. You need to focus on creating value, and giving the perception of that being the goal is critically important. (right side up thinking )

  • Don't waste people's time. The world is too noisy for spamming incomplete thoughts and WIP ideas; ideas where the focus is on yourself not not the customer. Wasting people's time violates rule #1 (don't look like a clown)

  • Don't be thirsty. Appearing thirsty for success is yet another way to look like a clown. Meditate, remember it will be ok. Remember success comes down to getting something out there that people find useful; there is no other way.

  • Practice the way you speak so that you are perceived correctly. Your wife or your mom cannot give you feedback on this because they already know the real you, this takes some real introspection and viewing yourself from the 3rd person (visualization) but it CAN be done.

  • Plan out your day, to the minute. There are way too many ways to get distracted, 80/20 is all about what you focus on and focus is all about planning.

  • No commenting on social media, no being part of the "herd". As an entrepreneur you're either leading the conversation or you should not be part of it.
