What will you accomplish by end of July?
What did you do yesterday to work toward your goal?
What will you do today?
By the end of July: Complete careermove.io community feature
Yesterday: reworked on the onboarding flow
Today: Working on Twitter cross-posting for careermove.io community
Omg got so much on!! I finally tracked down a weird crashing error I had which will now allow my main beta tester to continue testing Blipp. I am also in discussions with another beta tester for Blipp which is awesome. I need to provide videos of how another app works to Apple so they can approve Proximate and start the advertising cycle on that. Going to be on a panel for developers at a University Which will be interesting and I need to organise the next three upcoming Indie Hackers Perth meetups!
What a beautiful day to Make/Hack!
I'm working on @partizion emails and a new update tabs feature :)
I'm going hard in on the marketing side of underlineme.com
Wish me luck!
Last month, we built Siteoly - The most powerful no code engine for Google sheets to create beautiful professional websites.
So, this month the goal is to go live and reach initial subscribers (we promised a much lower price at $29/year for these initial subscribers).
Creating 7th issue for Remote Letter, publishing tomorrow.
Thinking of starting a new project, a real time json feed for ecommerce products by scraping on demand.
Working on completing atleast two screens by end of this month.
Been learning material ui and react. Super excited to start . Last week launched landing page of https://budgetguru.app Got some good feedback, plaaning to update the landing page as well.
By end of July... launch Phase 1 of Lift Academy! It will consists of at least a Grade 6 assessment for common core state standards. Then on to other grades.
Yesterday, I started working on the Grade 6 assessment. It is a pretty involved process so far that I need to get down into a more manageable cycle. Right now I look up the standard, decide if I can write a question to accurately measure it, look up some examples if possible, and then write the question in Airtable. Sometimes I have to go tweak the assessment engine to support something the question needs, like formatting, etc.
Today I will write 30 questions, hopefully getting me to about 33% of the standards. I only carved out 4 hours for this task but I can tell it's going to be a few days. That's OK, this is content and is important.
End of July is fast approaching and there is a lot left to do.
Also lots of marketing work, contact ppl, etc. as per usual. :)
The crazy life of an entrepreneur...
By the end of July, I will set up a test landing page to start collecting email addresses for my side project idea. If I get enough, I will get an explicit all-clear from my company to do it. They have a fairly liberal side project policy. But if I'm building something to make money, I would feel more comfortable getting an explicit thumbs-up.
I'm working on the finishing touches of my eBook - Start With A Side Project
Getting all chapters illustrations in place my work reviewed.
I wish everyone a positive and productive week 🙂
07/17 Update: $2,426.30 in sales, $739.10 MRR
I posted a milestone today - SoftwareIdeas.io paid for its own expenses, and I was able to take some of the profit from it and start my down-payment fund for my first house!
Didn't do any work on the weekend, and it seems like sales have started to slow down from the natural boost I got when someone popular tweeted about SoftwareIdeas.io. I'd say that I'm down from 3 sales a day to a more realistic 1 sale/day.
I feel like there's so much to tackle right now. Here's my short list of all the things I want to explore:
On Friday, I took my first stab at the membership site. I have a feeling that I want to get that live as soon as possible, since it will significantly increase the value of my subscription and hopefully increase my conversion rate.
One exciting thing that's happening this week is that this is the last issue that my pre-sales customers are receiving. They all agreed to pay a one-time payment of $19 (full price) for the first four issues. This week, they'll have the opportunity to subscribe the the quarterly edition. I'll probably offer a discount, which will cheat the numbers a bit, but it will be good to get a rough idea of how many churn out.
If they all subscribed, MRR right now would be $948.10, which is almost $1k!
My guess is that five will sign up. I'm hoping to be wrong here and that churn is way lower than that, but that's where my gut is. If that's the case, and I also see 50% churn in September (when my first quarterly subscribers can unsub), I may have to rethink my pricing structure.
It's very possible that this product has a high churn, which is why I'm looking to offer an annual plan as soon as I have an idea of the customer LTV.
Well, this was super ramble-y. Here are my goals for today:
Seems like a lot, but I should have about 6-8 hours of time to work on SoftwareIdeas.io today, so I think it's accomplish-able!
