A SaaS subscription question...🤔

What is the ideal logic in a subscription system in such a case when 👇

The user has subscribed to a monthly plan1 and after 15 days he subscribes to plan2 (a better plan).

Now, what should happen to plan 1 as he has already paid for it?

I'm guessing ideally it should continue after plan2 is over.
