Simple and meaningful. Great insights, what type of groups do you recommend?
Thank you! For subreddits to participate in, that'll depend on your business & customer type. Knowing those, you can use GummySearch to find those communities. As an example, here's a a collection of subreddits full of Indie Hackers.
Thanks, nice tool. Have you thought about adding a feature like f5bot.com ? This bot notifies you when people ask things based on your keywords. I find it quite useful to start conversations on comments.
Yes I actually just launched that feature this week ;)
If you'd like to give it a try, let me know and I'll enable it for your account
Sure, I hit you on TW ;)
That’s very interesting, Fed. I should spend some more time on Reddit. Always neglecting it a bit 😅
Thanks, Dennis! I've found that lots of founders write off Reddit as a site for cat pics + memes. It's got plenty of those, but also can be such a valuable resource for indie makers who want to leverage communities for early growth.
If you'd like to give Reddit a shot, but not spend too much time endlessly scrolling (it'll get ya), I've built a focused view of Reddit for startup founders. It's called GummySearch and it's free to try! My main goal with the product is to help community-minded founders discover communities full of their target customers, and conversations where those people are discussing pain points your product/business can solve for them.
Wow, this looks awesome and well designed. Just signed up 🤩
Thanks for your insights, @thefedoration.
I was thinking about engaging with Reddit's communities recently regarding my current project - BotMeNot. I'm still not sure, though.
Can you share what kinds of results Reddit brought you?
It's worth a shot! How would you define your niche customer for BotMeNot?
After SEO, Reddit is my second-largest source of traffic to the Hive Index. Brings me thousands of visitors a month. This is almost exclusively from engaging with people in the comments who are asking for resources similar to the Hive Index.
Just checked out Hive Index - It looks good, so thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing, Fed.
Could you help me identify if Reddit and GummySearch would be good fit for my startup microns.io ?
Hey Ilya, a quick search shows both people talking about selling & buying small businesses on reddit. Check it out, I think there's definitely an opportunity for you to grow Microns via Reddit.

Thanks man. Will check it out
