Advice for newsletter-ers
by

https://www.robinsloan.com/notes/newsletter-seasons/
I would kindly suggest those who are running newsletter(s) to please start using email more yourself . I lost count on how many newsletter makers have said to me 'They're not an email person' when I ask them to communicate via email instead of chat.
It's disingenuous at best and at worst you'll miss out on why your emails are not being read when you expect your readers to open your email promptly and read them among dozens of other emails, hundreds of other things asking for their screen-time when you don't use the email yourself.
Thanks for sharing Rosie and thanks Robin! This makes a lot of sense, creating a newsletter is just like any other product. It will evolve, it will be shut down, creator will get tired or even sick of writing. Having a progression does help creator/writer to set the right expectation!
The next big question is - how to stand out from soooo many newsletter nowadays? haha!
Thanks for sharing! The idea of breaks and seasons never occurred to me but it makes a lot of sense to have time to reflect and determine progress and how to evolve the product.
Thanks for sharing, to be honest your article kinda inspired me to start my own blog/newsletter, just because I like the ideea of seasons and progression, I would need to think how can I gamify a newsletter/blog.
I like this! Sometimes it's really hard to pause, reflect, and shake up my approach when I have a weekly commitment (or even more frequent!) to publish.
very nice idea Rosie!
