AI visibility check for indie products

I ran AI visibility checks on 3 indie products this week. Here's what I found.

For each one, I asked ChatGPT "what are the best tools for [their category]?" None of them appeared. In every case, the same 5-6 established players dominated. The indie products were completely invisible.

The pattern was identical across all three categories: AI tools don't discover new products. They pull from Reddit threads and comparison articles. If you're not embedded in those sources, you don't exist in AI recommendations — regardless of how good your product is.

The fix isn't technical. It's about getting mentioned in the right Reddit threads and comparison articles. That's it.
