I just launched Hookdropi after 6 weeks of building in public.
The idea came from a real problem: I lost a Stripe webhook while my server was restarting. 3 hours debugging something that shouldn't have happened.
So I built the tool I wished existed.
---
Hookdropi is an AI-native webhook relay and inspector:
→ Permanent capture URL — never lose an event again
→ Auto-retry forwarding with exponential backoff
→ Dead letter queue for undeliverable events
→ One-click replay against any environment
→ Real-time dashboard via WebSocket
→ AI explains every payload in plain English
→ AI writes your complete handler code
→ AI diagnoses why deliveries fail
Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ, Next.js, Gemini AI, Paystack, Flutterwave.
Deployed on Railway + Vercel. Docs on Mintlify.
---
Current status:
- Live at hookdropi.qzz.io
- Free plan: 500 events/month
- Paid plans: ₦7,500 – ₦49,000/month
- First 20 developers get 3 months of Pro free
---
What I learned:
1. Separate your ingestion API from your application API. Webhooks need to respond in <50ms. Everything else can be async.
2. BullMQ's exponential backoff is elegant. Configure it once, it handles everything.
3. AI integration was easier than I expected. The hard part is the prompt, not the API.
4. Deploy earlier than you think you need to. Production bugs only appear in production.
---
I'm looking for:
- Developers who work with Stripe, GitHub, Paystack, or Shopify webhooks
- Honest feedback on what's missing or broken
- Anyone willing to try the free plan and tell me what they think
