All-in-one solution = solution of nothing
Hey Indie Hackers! I’m Kate, building migroot.io—a service that untangles visa bureaucracy and makes it actually manageable.
You know how we started? We launched on Product Hunt claiming to be the "all-in-one solution for digital nomads." Hahah! Classic mistake. It was my first time building a product from scratch, and of course, I made every rookie mistake—including trying to build a super app right out of the gate.
Here’s my biggest takeaway: You can’t build an all-in-one solution from zero—especially if you're bootstrapping with a small team.
Instead, we zoomed in on a real problem:
🔹 Keeping up with ever-changing visa requirements
🔹 Making that info easy to digest with a clean, intuitive UI
Is this the final answer? Nope. We’re still iterating and haven’t hit PMF yet. But things started moving way faster once we stopped trying to do everything at once.

Absolutely, I can relate to this. Trying to build an all-in-one solution often spreads resources too thin and makes it hard to deliver real value. Focusing on solving a specific problem effectively usually leads to better traction and user satisfaction. It’s a great reminder that clarity and focus often outweigh ambition in the early stages.

But hey, I don’t really think building all-in-one solution = solving nothing. But I do believe building a one-for-all solution = solution for none.
