Am I being ghosted by Linkedin algorithm?
Hey all ! I have launched today on linkedin and revealed my product with a one minute video - and after a few hours the distribution seems off.
Even if I have 30+ comments and 60 likes I rack less than 2K views which is low.
Myself, on any day I do this with relatively normal content.
- video content would be liked by the algo, and I would say it is relevant since it drives comments and engagement from my network.
However, with the growth of comments, views and distribution stalls..
It feels like the algorithm have slashed 100-50% or more of the reach of my post, even though I do not have external link in the post. (Have on in the comment, but posted via the company account)
The only explanation I see why this is happening is that Linkedin read my DM's and know I asked some people to give some help on the post.
I also asked some people on slack too, but since it is outside, I don't see that as a factor.
Anybody had similar experiences of having their reach limited like this?

Honestly, the algorithms are super random on Linkedin - thats my experience at least. I work for 2 creators right now and track both theirs accounts regularly. Some posts go mad viral in terms of reach but with very poor engagement, some have great engagement in spite of not that great reach and some really well written posts dont even reach 1/10th of our normal reach.
I think if the post gets likes or comments in the first couple hours - it helps with reach. The only pattern I have seen.
Yeah it's the issue with relying on LinkedIn (and other social networks) to grow your business - distribution is never really in your hands.
Adjusting to the algo is never really a sustainable process.

You're getting about 3% reactions (likes and comments) out of the 2k reach. Which is very good, not bad at all. If you want more, you pay. That's how it's designed. Your numbers are not off/wrong/bad, they are normal for the current noise happening in the social sphere.
Hey Rusu, thanks for your comment. Actually, my rant is about the number of views. which is super low compared to engagement.
I have good engagement, and lots of comments. I did not do any strategy like, comment to get the resources x access.
Normally on a basic post, I do 1.5-2K views easy, with 15-20 likes.
Now I have 4x the amount of likes, 30x more comments on any given posts (from old and reputable account in the industry), and like 25 repost.
The distribution seems very off, so I am somehow disappointed as my low estimation was at least double that amount.
But maybe like you said, this is normal and I should hack the algo and promote commenting for access.

How much DMs do you send? Linkedin is against pods. Might be the cause. but it depends on the amount dm you send
Like 20-30 max.
Then I had 2-3 groups of users I had. This might be it, their algo may be thought it was pods.
