An explainer video, is it worth it?

Heyo,
I am just wondering, how many of you have ever considered having an explainer/product video at the very top of the homepage website?

I did one for my animated icon library a while ago, and it doesn't get many views. Out of 50k new monthly users, it gets 1k views a month.

Is it a video problem, or the fact that our product is so simple people go straight into the library instead of wasting time watching a 90s video?
