Are you a dev shop/agency?

For the last couple of months I've been developing envsecrets.com. It is an open-source end-to-end encrypted platform to centrally store your environment secrets and synchronize them with third-party services.

I only recently realized that dev shops are yielding more value out of it because unlike traditional product companies, you guys have to manage the secrets of your client projects as well, and not just your own.

For individuals and product companies, this tool is generally for you if you:

  • Are currently hardcoding your secrets in your code.
  • Are sharing .env files over Slack or WhatsApp.
  • Are consuming the same set of secrets in multiple services/locations.
  • Do not have any access control setup for your secrets.
  • Need to version your secrets.

But - we have a bunch of development agencies who are using envsecrets.com to handle environment secrets and variables for their client organizations.

If you are a dev shop/agency, I think this can add value for you. And I would love for you to try it out! ❤️

Amongst many hidden gems, the platform's core features include:

  • CLI first control of your secrets.
  • Role-Based Access Control
  • Deployment Platform Integrations - Vercel, Docker, etc.
  • Versioning
  • Multi-Factor Authentication
  • Third-party synchronization: Push your secrets to the third-partry services where you are consuming them. For example: Github Actions, Vercel, Railway, ASM, etc.

I would love to know your feedback. And please feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn (link on profile) or our Discord server (link on website).

Thanks ❤️
