If your Travel folder is the most used category on your phone, you’ve likely realized that planning a trip in 2026 feels less like work and more like a strategy game. We’ve moved far beyond simple booking engines.
There is a tension that exists between the moment you say, "I need a vacation" and the moment you actually know where you’re going.
Historically, this gap was filled with hours of aimless scrolling and dozens of open browser tabs. In 2026, however, travel apps have become the bridge that turns vague wanderlust into a concrete boarding pass.
Modern travel tools solve this by flipping the script, instead of asking you for a destination, they ask for your vibe. AI-driven discovery platforms can now analyze your interests and budget to suggest hidden gems you didn't even know existed.
The discovery phase is now just as fun as the trip itself. If you’re looking for that next great idea, the LU app is a cool tool to spark travel inspiration.
The shift from "destination-based" to "vibe-based" search is definitely the future of travel. The old drop-down menus for dates and locations feel so outdated now!
I'm curious from a builder's perspective: Travel apps notoriously suffer from high churn once the user actually goes on their trip. How is the LU app tackling user retention between vacations? Do you have features to keep them engaged year-round?
Really cool concept, wishing you the best with the app!
I do not want to send regular emails and reminders to users. I just believe that users who found lupath.ai useful will come back anyway.
I appreciate your kind words about app! Thx!
kinda true but also gets overwhelming fast… you open one app for flights, another for stays, then reels, blogs, maps, it turns into chaos instead of “inspiration”, the vibe based discovery is cool but half the time it suggests the same overhyped spots everyone already posts, honestly the best trips I’ve had came from picking a place quick and figuring it out there instead of over planning everything through apps 😅
This is also fine approach, still you can try lupath.ai, it may surprise you :)
I'm that's why I create Triply.now it's an AI with affiliate links for hotel, activities, flights, transportation and more. Right now I'm struggling with Amadeus to get the production key and this waiting it's killing my travel AI planner because the flights ther aren't real. If you want to talk I love to hear everything about your path until here. Email on my bio. And good luck.
It would be very nice to exchange some experience about app development and especially about further distribution that is real bottleneck!
Travel apps are definitely addictive when they’re done right. What’s your angle here — discovery, planning, or something different?
I am focused on first step in travel planning- inspiration. You want to go somewhere but you do not where exactly. This app can support you in decision process by sparking your inspiration.
I would love to try out the app once its ready for showcase, I usually spend a lot of time researching where I want to vacation next. Either I already have something in mind or I mindlesly scroll through different optins, But this app may be the fixer to my problem.
Well, it´s already ready to use, just try it out, no login, easy to navigate. I would appreciate your feedback!
This is really cool Lu
If you ready for people to use it
I'm available
LU (lupath.ai) is already available, try it out, there is no login, just go there and use it!
looks ood but the UI could be worked on.....
:) well I was trying hard to escape very generic AI app and to look different, you are right it can be said odd :)
Interesting point about the shift from planning to “playing” with travel tools. It really does feel more like a strategy game now, especially with apps suggesting ideas based on mood instead of just destinations.
I’m curious, though — do you think this makes people rely too much on apps instead of discovering places on their own? Or does it actually enhance the experience by saving time and giving better options?
I hope apps like this will simply open new horizons for users, sparking their imagination and helping them find the best-fitting travel destinations faster. Conversely, if an app becomes a distraction, nobody will want to use it anyway.
This is a really interesting angle, especially the “impulse buy” pricing — you don’t see many tools deliberately aiming that low from day one.
One thing I’m curious about: who’s the ideal user you’ve seen so far actually get value from it? Because in my experience, a lot of founders say they want “insights”, but what they actually act on tends to be very specific (like pricing, funnel drop-offs, etc.).
Also agree with your point about people “flying blind” — I’ve been building something in the clinic comparison space and ran into a similar issue, just in a different form. Lots of data out there, but very little that’s actually structured in a way people can decide with.
Feels like the real challenge isn’t analysis — it’s making the output actionable.
Would be interesting to see an example report (even anonymised) — that would probably convert a lot better than explaining the phases.
I believe everybody who travels anywhere could take advantage of this app. The business model is based on the Booking platform, so when someone reaches Booking through my app lupath.ai then some commission from Booking is what I see as my profit. It's of course still far from being a real business.
I actually like that model as a starting point — it’s a clean way to validate demand without building the whole stack upfront. Out of curiosity, are people actually completing bookings through it yet, or mostly browsing?
:) currently only browsing through the app, but this is also fine, I am not expecting super fast growing business!
honestly, the biggest friction i still see in these apps is bridging the gap between finding a cool hidden gem and the actual logistics of getting there (like realizing it takes 3 layovers and ruins the budget). does LU handle the actual flight/hotel data matching too, or is it strictly focused on the inspiration side of things?
The LU app is focused only on travel inspiration.
I wanted to cover this small part of travelling because I found it a bit weird that all successful travel apps start with a field where you enter where you want to travel, how is it possible that everybody knows exactly where to go? I am not that ambitious to try to cover the entire travelling process in my app.
Thanks for sharing your insight. I plan to add some testimonials.

Most of existing Travel apps focus on itinerary when you already know where to travel. I am trying to cover travel inspiration with this app as naturally first step in travel planning.
