SPFound can help you find help!!
Hey IH
For the past year, I have been experimenting and creating new projects to release to the community. However, I felt that I kept trying to do jobs that I couldn't really do. So I decided to try and get some help but kept finding it so difficult to find anyone who could help me. I also found that there was no central location, where I could easily get help for my projects. So I decided to build SPFound, a central location where users can post their projects that they need help with and explain what help they need so that other users that come onto the site, who are looking to help others can simply choose a project and contact the Project creator.
Now, this is version 1 of the site, meaning that site is not yet fully complete with all the feature I want to integrate, but has all the core features built and is functional to start using.
Here are some of the features I wish to integrate.
Upcoming Features: - Contact forum - CMS ( so that users can create, edit, and delete a post) - User Accounts - Better looking form - search - User Profiles - Sharing (so users can share the projects that need help to other people)
If you have any more ideas that you think would improve the site, please leave a comment, I will be sure to read and respond to them all.
You've really taken the traditional landing page to heart even if it's not adapted for this kind of website.
I'll try to explain what I mean.
A traditional landing page, in my opinion, is that one website you arrive on before actually arriving to content. It presents your product and maybe even prices. Those kind of landing pages just make want to run away, because I feel they're trying to convince me to take out my wallet before I can even try anything.
When I go on your website, that's what I feel. It feels like those traditional landing pages and doesn't feel like the actual content.
But upon closer look, the place where you could find the different price models is actually the content and that is quite confusing in my opinion. Especially with the "live" word in the top corner which screams at me like "this is the best deal".
That being said, this kind of presentation is like a 'card component'. This kind of presentation works well when you have few projects. The moment you start getting a lot of projects the whole 'card component' takes up too much room and it's hard to go through them quickly.
When you hover over the card component, there is a box shadow that appears behind it, which makes me really think I can click on it.
I think you could take a different approach. Try to implement a simple clean listing that is easy to read. For example, I love how stackoverflow has done this approach on their job listings ( https://stackoverflow.com/jobs ). Maybe you could do something along the same lines?
Finally, I think your idea is actually quite interesting and could be nice with a cleaner UI and more features.
Hope what I said helps.
Thank you, that was actually really helpful, and has opened up my eyes to the problems on the project. I will take what you said into account and reskin the site to make it look cleaner and nicer for users
