As indie hackers and bootstrappers, one thing that's uniquely important: motivation. Particularly when you're doing things that are required but you don't necessarily enjoy, like marketing.
When you're feeling down or doubting your idea, you aren't as focused, your enthusiasm diminishes and you are not doing your best work.
This will reflect onto your audience, and your conversion rate. It's a negative cycle.
On the other hand, when you're feeling up and motivated about your brilliant business idea, you are marketing well. You're excited about your idea and the problem it solves. The very positive feedback from your audience will reinforce your reasons for building what you're building and carry you through the week.
As an indie hacker, I've found it's vital to structure your weekly to-do list in a way that re-energises you as consistently as possible. Dopamine plays a major role in reward-motivated behaviour. Aim to experience it once per day through your work. Success breeds success.
I also think about installing solar panels in my place. Still thinking, because I don't know how long it'll take to pay off, but I'm sure it's better for the environment.
