Besides taking generic advices from Internet gurus, We should start questioning them as well.
Giving advices online has definitely become a popular growth channel for many creators. In past couple of years I have seen so many of them that at this point, all of them kinda sounds similar.
Everyone is like hassle 14+/7, get X skill and sell Y, use this growth hacks 🧵, Do this X amount of things to change your life....
And of course this isn't their fault! because they are making/writing content for the masses. So it's bound to be generic, but the problem arises when they share their experiences/assumes as for facts. Which can be dangerous for us follower, Coz directly just applying those hacks will not make us smarter. In reality everyone has different situations and what worked for them may not work for us.
So what we need to is start being more thoughtful and decide for ourselves what advices to take and what not, where to make changes & indentify which is BS.
Now while I'm writing this blog, I realized I'm also kinda sounding like a "guru", Giving you advise to not to take all advices! 😶
Which is totally opposite of what I'm trying to say, In fact whatever I'm saying can be total BS as well. I'm just a guy ranting on the internet at 3am after seeing my timeline getting filled with generic advices.
So I guess what I mean is, Just because someone has fame/got rich, Not everything they say are facts! You decide for yourself what makes sense and not.
If you scroll through twitter, sometimes you wonder if they even believe what they "advice" to other/younger people.
But whatever it takes to get attention, followers and likes.
You are 100% right, that everyone should be careful.
On one hand, its better to not believe everything and do mistakes by your own (that's the best way of learning and growing).
On the other hand - it's better to not do mistakes other people already did.
But how to separate? That's the hardest questions.

True, avoiding mistakes may not always be the right choice. You learn a lot from mistakes.
Everyone thinks they are an expert. Some people actually are experts, and it's worth taking their advice. But there are plenty of scammers out there too. The trick is being able to tell the two from each other, and not many people can do it. The best example of this happening right now is in Web3 and crypto. Theres people like Machinsky of Celsius telling people to "un-bank themselves", meanwhile he's out there paying his debts off with his depositors.
This is an important point! We're living in an age where there is more creative output than ever before. What's out there is of higher quality than ever before, but there's also a greater quantity than ever before. Because of the latter point, approaching things critically is really important.
