Hi Indie Hackers,
I’ve been working on a project called Obolus and would love to get some feedback from this community.
The idea came from a simple frustration: when people consider moving abroad, they usually compare gross salaries. But that often gives a completely misleading picture once taxes, cost of living, and long-term wealth are factored in.
So I started building Obolus, a financial platform that lets you compare your real purchasing power across countries.
Right now the platform allows you to:
* Compare payroll taxes across 8 major economies
* Simulate your net income after taxes
* Plan monthly budgets across countries
* Run long-term investment and wealth simulations (ETFs, Stocks, Savings Account)
* Track your global net worth in a single financial cockpit
The goal is to answer a question many globally mobile professionals have:
“Where does my income actually go the furthest?”
I’m currently looking for feedback on a few things:
Does this problem resonate with you?
What countries would you want to compare?
What financial simulations would actually be useful?
You can check it out here:

Really curious to hear your thoughts!
