πŸ’‘ Build stronger retention with reward reminders (like Loom)

This little UI element helps Loom build stronger habits around their product.

Making users aware of the value they got from your product is the crucial third step of the habit loop (reward).

habit loop

It's especially important for products where users don't see the value immediately after using them (e.g. for tools working in the background).

So Loom displays a banner in the video library that shows how much time users saved by replacing meetings with Looms.

1 meeting a day replaced thanks to 5 Looms = reward.

For the reward to be most effective, the results you're showing must be in line with users' end goal of using your product.

That's why Loom uses the 'meetings replaced' statistic - it's what users care about the most.

Two other examples where reward reminders could make a positive impact:

  1. Automation tools (e.g. Zapier) should show the estimated time users saved thanks to their processes being automated
  2. Tools that save money should display the amount of money users saved thanks to them

I'd love to see more real-life examples of this tactic, so feel free to share your screenshots!
