Building A Cloud Community - A Startup City
Hey everyone!
I have lately been quite inspired by the concept of a cloud community and the building of a startup city.

I'm not sure what your vision of this is, but I've been thinking about this for more than a decade as well. I've been a digital nomad/expat for 20+ years so the idea of being contained to a physical location or country seems to be a very limited perspective.

I have seen Balajis' 1729. I actually wrote for that too.
Thanks for sharing safetywing and FlagTheory. I've not heard of them before. Have taken a look at them. Personally though I am not entirely for going off Government altogether. As a non-American, I think governments outside of America can be very effective in delivering public goods and public welfare which private individuals can't do as well or do with misaligned incentives.

I agree that people in most advanced countries have a great social safety net, America excluded. I'm Canadian, so I. definitely don't want to give up the advantages of this country.
However, the real benefit of a virtual nationality would be for those from lesser developed countries that have limited opportunities and weak passports that make it difficult to work and live around the world.
Virtual citizenship would open opportunities to billions around the world and help by-pass the corruption of their governments.

Hey Daniel! Tell me more. I'm in a few other founder's groups and we've been toying around with a semi-similar idea if I'm not mistaken.
What have you guy been thinking of?
Groups of founders renting spaces around the world for semi-long term time periods and switching locations every few months.
Hi @hellodaniel I love the makershouse idea, good luck with it. I ran one of my tech startups back in 2007 from a beach in Egypt. A very early digital nomad, before the term was invented ;-)
