Hello there, friends! I'm Sacha, a passionate developer hailing from the tiny but vibrant island of Malta 🇲🇹.

Today, I'd like to share a story that is very close to my heart, a tale about the creation of my little brainchild - picaii.com. It's a journey that pushed my limits, redefined my work ethic, and proved to me that perseverance is indeed the key to managing to bake something 😊

Rewind to early 2023, I stumbled across a few intriguing tweets from other indie devs. Sharing their fascinating journey of crafting products around 'stable diffusion technology'. This technology was capable of generating AI-created images and avatars, a concept that piqued my interest instantly.

With a curious mind and a dash of fascination, I couldn't help but wonder if I could brew something along similar lines. You see, up until then, my projects were like unfinished symphonies, destined to be tucked away in the corner or trashed. I often found myself getting stuck in the weeds, bogged down by small details that brought little to no value to the larger picture. My journey, so far, was riddled with these incomplete endeavors.

But this time, things were different. I felt a surge of determination like never before. I needed to go the distance, push my limits, and finally launch something tangible.

To hold myself accountable, I involved my father in this venture. His role? A friendly daily reminder of my progress. It was a fun way to keep myself in check. Through weeks, even months, of constant 'check calls' and my relentless resolve, I finally managed to build and ship a minimum viable product (MVP). I was thrilled, to say the least!

So, what magical ingredients went into building my dream project? The tech stack comprised NextJS, chakra-ui, AWS-Appsync, dynamodb, event-bridge, aws-cognito, lambda functions, and Rep.

My journey with picaii.com has been a testament to the fact that persistence is key. So, to all the newbies out there, remember, success is built on a pile of failures. Don't get disheartened. Embrace the grind, keep your curiosity alive, and never, ever stop working towards your goals.
