Building an Open Source webpage builder

Hey everyone👋

I've been working on a web based website builder that generates clean vanilla code, and is easy to use. You just drag and drop and export to code. For free. In short you can put it as, a free & opensource alternative to webflow.

Why am I doing this?
See, I love webflow. It's good, it's great, and I'm not even thinking of my project being the next million dollar idea or something . I'm 19 y/o in my 2nd year, and all I want to do is to prove my worth that I've created something useful that people would love to use. A product that adds value to their lives. I hope it would be something worth considering in my resume.

I love webflow and so, I wanted to create a free version of it where I can add features by my own for myself and for others. It's been 9 months. The core app is ready and so, I'm opening it up for testing soon... And if this works I would be able to financially support my family, hit the gym, and work on myself (let's hope🤞)

Which Tech Stack is used?

  • Tailwind CSS + Flowbite
  • Svelte

Who is it for?
It's aimed towards developers only. As a developer myself, I just freaking hate writing frontend (go to hell CSS). And so, I want to create a free tool for me and just for anyone who wants to do frontend faster & smarter. The UI is very simple and familiar to webflow so the learning curve would be 🤏

Why keep Open Source?
Cuz why not! By making my code open source, others will contribute too and we humans are best at working together as no man has ever created everything by himself. This would speed up the development cycle as bugs could be easily spotted and squashed. And I will get to learn more too

What about money?
I don't know, it's just an idea. All the features will be free forever and is open source too so you can host it on your machine by yourself. The only thing that won't be there, are the pre-built components & templates [I didn't decided the pricing yet]

You can leave your email to get informed for the testing [January]
