Building Flirri: From AI Chat to Interactive World

A while back, I started building Flirri, an AI character platform, and the project has grown quite a bit from the original idea.

The goal was initially pretty simple: let users choose a character, chat, and create a more personalized AI experience.

Since then, I’ve added AI image generation and voice, and now I’m working on the feature I’m most excited about: Flirri World, which is coming soon.

Flirri World is designed to make the experience feel less like simply opening a chat window and more like entering an interactive world.

I’m starting with two cities:

🌴 Los Angeles
🌊 Miami

Users will be able to enter a city and choose from different characters to interact with, giving each experience a different personality and setting.

There’s still a lot I want to build, but I’m trying to move Flirri beyond the typical AI character/chat format and create something that feels more immersive.

The biggest lesson so far has been how quickly the scope of a project can evolve once you start building and seeing what’s possible.

I’d love some feedback from other builders:

Does the idea of exploring different cities and choosing characters make an AI platform more interesting to you than a traditional character-selection screen?

And if you were building this, would you keep expanding Flirri World first, or focus on polishing the existing chat, image and voice features before adding more locations?
