AI coding tools are making software development faster than ever — but also increasingly chaotic.

Over the last year, while working with AI-heavy engineering workflows, we kept running into the same problems:

• vague tickets

• missing product context

• AI-generated code without validation

• no structured handoff between planning and implementation

Most tools focus on generating code faster.

We started building SpecShip because we believe the bigger challenge is maintaining engineering clarity while using AI at scale.
