I started working on PNL Log after becoming frustrated with how expensive and disconnected trading journals are.
Most serious journals charge traders for basic performance tracking. At the same time, traders share results across social platforms where screenshots can be edited and there is no reliable way to know what is real.
PNL Log combines both sides. It is a free trading journal and performance platform with analytics, trading calendars, equity curves and separate trading books. It also includes trader profiles, a social feed and broker synced verified trades.
The platform supports futures, forex, crypto and options and is available on web and iOS.
Our long term goal is to make PNL Log the social layer for trading, where traders can improve their performance, share credible results and connect with others through actual trading data.
We are currently focused on growing the first real community of traders and improving the product from their feedback. I would be interested to hear whether the positioning is immediately clear and what would make you keep returning to a platform like this.
The verified-trade angle is a strong differentiator, especially when screenshots can be edited so easily. How do you preserve trust when a trader needs to correct fees, partial exits, or other details after broker sync? Do profiles distinguish fully broker-synced results from trades that were added or modified manually? I’d also be interested in how you balance public verification with keeping account balances and sensitive trading data private.
What I'd watch carefully is the relationship between performance tracking and community.
Those are both valuable on their own.
The interesting question is whether they strengthen each other, or whether one eventually becomes the reason people join while the other becomes the reason they leave.
That's usually harder to see early on than it seems.
