Built a diagnostic to solve the problem no-code tools skip. Here's what happened.

Six apps live, seventeen books published, content system running autonomously. All solo, while working a senior day job. The thing I couldn't find when I was starting: help with the upstream problem. Every tool I found assumed I knew what to build. I didn't. Not for a long time.

Most people with real expertise never monetize it. The blockage is almost always upstream of the build. Four archetypes: The Unmined, The Unpacked, The Underpriced, The Undistributed. Four different stuck points. Four different first moves.

What I shipped: PIQUE Assessment. Free. Two-stage. Ten minutes. Outputs archetype, dimension scores, personalized build sequence, first move. Paid tiers: The VAULT ($297), PIQUE Kit ($1,997), PIQUE Pro ($4,997). Current target: 150 completions and 10 VAULT sales in 90 days. What I'd do differently: solve the diagnostic before building anything else.

This is a solid “diagnostic-first” framing—especially the idea that the real gap isn’t execution tools but problem identification before execution. That upstream layer is where most no-code and AI builders overestimate user clarity.

The archetype model (Unmined / Unpacked / Underpriced / Undistributed) is also doing important work here because it turns ambiguity into a decision tree, which is what actually enables follow-on monetization.

The biggest risk will be validation: diagnostics tend to feel insightful even when they’re not predictive. If PIQUE can tie archetypes to measurable downstream outcomes (conversion, launch success, revenue lift), it becomes much harder to ignore and a lot more defensible as a paid system.
