Built a leadership training simulator for developers

The problem: I'm a senior developer who's technically competent but terrified of the people management aspects of becoming a Tech Lead.

My solution: A web app that simulates realistic Tech Lead scenarios where I (and others) can practice making decisions and get AI feedback without real consequences.

Current stats:
Launched 2 weeks ago

0 revenue (it's free while I figure out if it's actually useful)

Built nights/weekends over 1 months

Tech stack:

• Angular/Analog.js frontend
• Node.js backend
• Firebase/Firestore
• Google Vertex AI for feedback

What I learned:

I'm not the only one scared of this transition

Lots of senior devs feel technically ready but worry about the soft skills
Building this actually made me more confident about eventually making the jump

Next steps:

• Keep adding scenarios based on feedback
• Maybe add a premium tier if people find it valuable
• Eventually work up the courage to actually apply for Tech Lead roles 😅
