I have a cool idea and I am looking for anyone remotely or in London who would like contribute/partner up to make it happen.
I have no tech background, previously started an app but hired an agency to develop and have learned from that..

The social media/influencer market is a +$billion market and estimated to grow to 10B by 2020.
One of the most effective forms for people which are interested in growing their social media account is through collaboration. As of right now, I have not found a platform which connect want to be influencers together to meet up and create content together to collaborate.
The way it works now, you would have to follow the people you want to collaborate with in instagram and send them a DM. But this is time consuming and also not effective, as you do not know if they want to collaborate with you.
My vision for this platform, is for it to be community driven: A place where youtubers, bloggers, instagrammers can connect, network and help each other.
This is a landing page I have created: Still thinking of a name and then i will buy the domain. https://mb7czb77kdj6.landen.co/
The idea is to create the landing page and then validate the idea by posting on groups where the potential target is and spending money in instagram ads.
What do you guys think of the idea?
Please be the most sincere you can.
If anyone interested to give it a go, let me know!

I'm just not clearly getting it. I see a lot of assumptions that haven't been refined enough.
First - the size of the broader market is not enough to work with if you haven't sharpened your spear. Where are you going to aim? It's like saying, "the ocean is huge and contains billions of fish". Do you think you'd catch one if you just launched a harpoon in randomly? You need to identify the species you're going after, figure out where they hang out, what bait to use, and then how to capture them.
Second - you're targeting social influencers. People who, by nature are immersed in social fabric, and then trying to use an old school approach of taking them out of their element (twitter, insta, etc) and into yet another platform. Are you likely to get friction with that approach to grow a platform? I don't know, but think about it and try to validate it somehow.
Finally, the concept of connecting these people and letting them help each other really needs to be made very specific. And you need to validate which behaviours and interactions are valued, what each participant stands to gain/lose, and how it can be monetised. There's a lot of unknowns packed in there. Perhaps you've thought about it. Can you boil it down to 1-2 specific interaction sequences and then validate the use-case? If possible, do it manually before building anything.
Hey Steven,
thank you for taking your time to read my post and writing your opinion.
You raised many valid points. I specially liked your second point, taking them out of their element it could potentially cause friction unless there is true value for them on the service given.
On the market stats, I am aware that the market size is not the size of the actual market for this service. I am able to identify the type of customer that would use a service like this, ' I interviewed a few nano-infuencers, people with less than 10k followers, who like the concept'. Maybe a good starting point would be to narrow the size all the way to nano-influencers and start from there. what do you think it would be the best technique to figure out the target persona? A/B testing in ads?
On your third point, the landing page, not sure if you have been able to check it out, only provides the core value of the service which is the match making. Ideally, a user signs up through instagram API and all the data is retrieved from their profile: number of followers, location, type of audience, engagement rate, etc. And the data is used to match them with a user with similar stats. Ex: you have 5k followers, are a fashion instagrammer. You would be paired with another 5k instagrammer in the same space as you. this way, you both know that you want to collaborate and you can decide whats the best way forward for you to do it.
The idea is to launch the landing page and do the matchmaking manually. You sing up, provide your insta username, and answer a few questions to categorise you and your audience and once a similar profile like your sign ups, you receive an email with that persons profile. What do you think?
The monetisation strategy is for it to be subscription based on a number of matches per month. Although, its very early to tell if it would work or not.
Please keep going! I appreciate having a second opinion from a different mindset. Its truly important.
It seems like there’s a few potential issues with your approach. It goes back to trying to validate some of the assumptions. This is a good example for anyone who has a complex idea to try and simplify it as much as possible before trying to move forward.
For instance, the matching is going to occur by correlating Instagram user profiles based on one or more attributes. Besides trying to validate which attributes are effective for the goal, you need to gain access to them. I haven’t used this particular API, but I took a look at it out of curiosity to try and provide some more value to you. At first glance, I do not see the endpoints available to handle this use-case on a consumer account. Some of the data is available through graph API on a business account, but there are some limitations in its usage. So right away, there are some potential roadblocks on one big assumption. Perhaps you can take a scraper approach..but anyway, let’s move beyond the technical details for now before getting distracted.
Where do you find the “ideal” influencers (and why are they ideal?) That’s the key to how you test. I don’t know the answer. Can you segment them (by demographic, by topic, by reach, something else?) to target them more specifically?
What is the ideal outcome from this? What happens when you “connect” two influencers? How do -they- measure success? How do you avoid platform avoidance once people are connected? Why do they still need to pay a subscription? It’s easy for me to ask a few questions, and I recognise that you have the difficult task of discovering which problems to solve here. Try starting with the problem and outcome and explore a bit.
