I've been a fan of the IH podcast since episode 43, and I'm about to start building my first product, Hashfile.io. I look forward to participating in the community! Thanks for all of the inspiring pods to date @csallen.

I've been going through the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree at teamtreehouse.com consistently since April of last year (I'm slow...but thorough) and this first product will be my final project for the program.

THE APP
I haven't nailed down all of the features for my MVP but the basic idea is to build a proof-of-existence web app. The app will allow a user to input text or a file, hash the input, and log the resulting hash to at least one blockchain (perhaps two or three).

Essentially this will allow a user, to prove at a later time that the text or file they submitted (contract, copyright material, .warc file, etc.) existed at the time it was hashed to the blockchain.

These types of apps are called "proof of existence" applications and have been around since at least 2014. They don't historically make much money, but I thought would make a fun first project.

Examples of this type of app include:
proofofexistence.com - Bitcoin blockchain
rockproof.io - Ethereum blockchain

TECH STACK
I'm planning on using the MERN stack, though I may switch the view engine over to PUG, which I'm more familiar with, if I get in a bind. I'm sure I'll have questions along the way. #javascript

MARKETING
I have some basic ideas on marketing, but I could use suggestions here if anyone is willing to share. It's probably no surprise, but this will be my weakest area.

PROGRESS
I've got a logo, a name, a list of features that is far too long, and a fuzzy business model.
