Listen - I love reading the stuff here, but hate clicking offsite. I've seen a few others share similar sentiments too. I really don't mean to complain, I just want to see the content here and engage with it here.
I promise you that I will click on the call to action at the bottom if I found your info helpful, informative, fun to read, etc., but what I don't want to do is:
Link drop and runs feel transactional and this community is way more than that. :)
Cheers!
Right! I don't understand why people don't just copy/paste the content in a post here...assuming it's their own.
Takes all of 30 seconds to re-format.
My point exactly. I really want to read the content (people are getting good at hooks!), but as soon as I see a link only, I pass it over.
I too think the same.

Posting links without context is killing this community - it slowly turns into a self-promo factory
My point exactly. Self promo is great and people will always need to do it, but do it so that it isn't a one-way street and expect people to come to your site automatically.
Do you mean for blog-like posts? I'd agree just type your thoughts out here!
But regarding self-promo in general. TBH I find it nice the community isn't gatekeeping links. There's loads of FB groups where you can't drop links, and Reddit doesn't like it much into you dropping links either, etc. "Hey, I'm working on this, this is my site URL/LINK" Is just the kind of thing solo entrepreneurs need to be able to do SOMEWHERE without judgement/bans. If we couldn't post links to our projects, I personally wouldn't be here. It's not like we're getting rich off it. Just it's mostly for hearing others feedback on our projects.
Totally get that point. I’m saying dropping a link and that’s it. I don’t think that’s the same.
Got it! Thanks for the clarification. Makes perfect sense and I agree with you.
