Hi @timkonie, I actually want the tool to be the most efficient way to create a 3D web. I'm using the BabylonJS engine and GLSL code for Shaders. If you have any advice from a performance point of view, that would be very nice!
There are a lot of small things you can do that have a big impact. Like using as small as possible textures (resolution), and limiting the output resolution, especially on hi-res ("retina") screens.
I've been working more with Three.js as I found it gives me more control, but Babylon is nice because it does a lot out of the box.
Bruno Simon's Threejs Journey course is very good, lots of useful tidbits in there. It's made for Threejs but I think you can still transfer a lot of knowledge over if you're using Babylon.

In terms of textures and output resolution, if you want the text to stay sharp with 3D rendering, you have to keep both at a good resolution unfortunately. Because otherwise the text quickly becomes blurry and hard to read.
Yep BabylonJS and ThreeJS both use WEBGL API so you will end up with the same performance whatever the engine.
You are right I should check if Bruno made a chapter on GLSL performance, maybe I could indeed found other ideas there.
For the text, usually using CSS 3D transforms worked pretty well for me in the past. Threejs has a nice integration for that, so you can transform CSS elements the same way as 3D objects. You can even group them and transform them together. Of course this won't work if you want to apply a shader to the text but if you're not doing that then it's a simple solution with good performance. Plus it doesn't break SEO crawling stuff because you're still using plain old html nodes, just with fancy CSS.
That is a very good idea. You can indeed put a shader effect on the text in FuryPage but if there is none, I could actually juste use css transforms. With the tool, the text is still there juste behind the canvas so I guess it doesn't change much for SEO.
