I decided to create an amazing image compression tool. My goal is to have a way better UX, with handy new features comparing to the existing solutions.
Considering the state of existing tools, it's not that challenging to create something better. But these website are around for years, some having ahref's authority over 75 / 100.
How do you fight that? :) Anyone did something similar?
I am sceptical that over time a better tool will fight the way up to top of the SERP organically.
Hi there,
It depends. This is how I assess similar problems (I'm not a primary SEO person, so take this with a grain of salt).
I hope this helps, at least a bit. For me, the first three steps are working exceptionally well.
Arminas, thank you man for writing all this! Will take it into account.
A better mouse trap is not any guarantee to get market share.
Try to avoid thinking a better product is the important thing
I haven't done something similar, but I'm also confident something can "over time" as you said, if it's higher quality. I'll be one of your first backlinks!
What handy new features are you thinking of?
Personally I'd love another web service out there to exist that can
Good luck.
Justification for the "over time" comment: I see websites with low domain authority, including mine, rise organically to the top for specific web pages that are higher quality than others out there. I don't know how to do this for web-apps. But if one gets more traffic because it's higher quality, and Google knows it, then it will (presumably) rise in rankings.
Thanks, Dana! I like your suggestion for additional functionalities.
Let me keep you posted on the progress and let's see if the tool will deserve that backlink! ;)
