Can you guess what we do?

http://shopdeft.com

We've set up a simple landing page to funnel users into our closed beta. I would love your feedback!

  1. What do you think our product does/is?
  2. Any competitors you can think of?

So it’s a search engine specifically for products that has a significant amount of detail about each product and handles natural language search. It seems incredible, almost too good to be true.

I can imagine a massive market for such a thing for interior designers and architects if you can seed it with a diverse range of products.

Can you elaborate on the need from interior designers/architects?

      Great analysis!

Just thinking they need to find specific products to fit their vision, like your couch example.

    1. eCommerce product aggregator

    2. Not off the top of my head

    Nifty!

      Thank you!

I think it's clear what you do BUT you might wanna tinker with the design a bit. A user that is just browsing might not give it the time i did.

Not sure about direct competitors but Amazon allows you to do a really detailed search (with color and everything). Then you have price comparison sites, can you deliver better results than them?

This is from personal experience, allowing free text will only complicate things.

      Hey XYZ,

Mind outlining what you think we should change in the design if a user isn't willing to spend more time on the landing page? Thanks for the feedback!

This is a nlp and image search engine targeting product search. Great idea, I think it will go a long way. I can't think of any direct competitors off the top of my head, sorry.

Thank you! Right on the money.

Basically I would call it my personal shopping filter/assistant. Finds me the product I am searching for in a glance without of hassle

There are few showing assistant tools I think they might be your competitor but not a direct one.

    1. 1

Can you list some of the most promising assistant tools you're thinking of here?

      1. 2

Hmm actually, there was one called "honey" but I think it was for price comparison. I think I don't know any that finds the product I am looking for through the internet. They most likely to find the best price through the internet.

Pretty simple concept I've actually been wanting for a long time: I just want to enter what I need and get a few suggestions - not endlessly browse and compare different shops. The couch example is not the best one (for me) I think... I would still buy larger items like that in a brick & mortar shop because I want to test it.

Competitors: not sure, Google shopping? Definitely didn't see the image search though.

How does it work? Combination of searching aggregated results & mturk?

    1. 1

No mturk, but we are crawling thousands of results from various eCommerce shops! Would love to have you check out beta.
