I am currently building two quite similar AI detectors to compete with each other: one for English and one for German. The SEO and their interface is almost identical. But the detectors are optimized for their respective languages.
I aim to find out if it's easier to launch an idea globally in English - or locally in another language (like German, which is my mother tongue).
At the moment it looks strongly like the German tool is winning, because - as you can already imagine - there's a lot less competition and the existing competitors are not specialized for German. => It's easier to rank for German keywords.
SEO clicks after 6 months (according to Google Search Console):
German AI Detector - 6,468
English AI Detector - 2,837
My takeaway so far:
Don't be afraid of a smaller audience - it could be your advantage. Niche down and use your "unfair advantages" - like your language (if it's other than English). Or in other words: copy an English tool that works and change it to fit the needs of your fellow countrymen.
If you want to check them out, google for "KIDetektiv.de" (German) or "AIscan24.com" (English).
Maybe this post helps someone who doesn't know what to build next.
Cheers
