Clients for freelancing
Hey all,
I'm trying to fund my indie hackery with freelancing, but even though I have more than 8 years of experience in web/iOS development and design (and having built a lot of stuff over the years with great feedback from peeps - http://zolo.blog/about) I'm having a really hard time finding clients. Being an introverted developer doesn't help.
I was wondering if there were people out there who would help me - or others - find clients for a share of the revenue.

Thanks! We have interviewed and accepted several companies and about 15 founders so far. We're still building the matching platform and we are planning on launching it in December, hopefully with a couple of dozen founders and companies on it by then :-)

The thing about freelance projects is that when most people look for a developer they look for someone in their circle or someone recommended by a friend,so if you push yourself to go to a few professional events every once and a while you'll definitely find some clients and those clients will recommend you to their circle if they like your work
Yeah, that seems to be my personal experience too. Most freelancing gigs I've received was through people I already knew. It's so weird we have just TONNES of freelance job sites with tonnes of jobs and they still seem to be ineffective. Thanks for the suggestion on the events!

In my experience, most of those freelance sites are quite bad.
I wasted so much time on sites like Upwork, bad experience.
Angel list isn't really showing results either.

Yepp, I'm on Angel and a on few different freelancing sites, though not TopTal. I love Angel, though I haven't gotten many responses from there.
