I built a form builder with a no code rules engine. I've been writing code on an off since 2017. I'm proud of the product but right now I have no paying users.
So I'm committing to focusing on marketing and promotion. Today I posted my first video about my product. I created a screencast video, created a youtube channel, posted the video, created a blog post, shared the video. Trying to figure out next steps.
I'm guessing that if I actually posted the video or the blog post that would be considered self promotion, which is discouraged? Would love feedback and thoughts. Trying to get over the fear of putting something out there that doesn't look 100% professional. Any tips for that kind of thing?
You can always go back and replace it with a more touched-up version (but sometimes raw is just nice and approachable for customers anyways).
Customers don't leave a product because they don't like their blog or YouTube series. They do sign up because they understand that their problem can be solved, their questions are answered or they believe they'll get the help they need.
Publish your blog. Post the video. Then tweet about it, post it on LinkedIn, tell your friends, email your whole list. Then make another one.
In summary: just do it.
